About the Library

SSM Polytechnic College Library is situated in the heart of the institution. The library serves as the intellectual and creative heart of our college, fostering a love of reading and empowering students to become independent learners and critical thinkers. We provide an inviting and dynamic learning environment with a wide range of resources that support and enrich the curriculum.

Our mission is to equip students with the information and digital literacy skills necessary to succeed in a changing global environment. Our library has 34687 Books, 1863 Project Reports, and 15 well reputed national periodicals. It is also well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of CD-ROMs and video lectures. The library spans 305 square meters and features a study hall with a seating capacity of 50.

Library Rules

College ID card is mandatory for accessing the library.
Members must sign the entry register before entering the library.
Personal belongings should be kept in the property counter.
Members must maintain silence inside the library at all times.
Using electronic devices and refreshments is strictly prohibited.
The librarian has exclusive rights to act on misconduct.
Members should check book conditions before issuance.

Borrowers are responsible for loss/damage of books.
Lost books must be replaced with latest edition.
Marking, underlining, clipping of books is forbidden.
Borrowed materials should be returned on due date.
Late fee will be charged for delayed returns.
Browsing limited to academic information only.
Reference books will not be issued.

NPTEL

SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapters facilitate student and faculty access to online courses from the Ministry of Education. SSM Polytechnic College has been established as SWAYAM NPTEL Local Chapter (LC ID: 6671). Our college Lecturer Mr. R.Varadharaj is appointed as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) of our College by NPTEL coordinator.

National Digital Library of India (NDLI)

Our college library has become member of National Digital Library of India (NDLI) which is promoted by Ministry of Education, Government of India. A Total of 100 students and faculties in our college have become member of this club.
