S.S.M. Polytechnic College is a Government Aided Institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamilnadu. It was established in the year 1980 by the industrial members of the S.S.M. Mari Chettiar Trust, Komarapalayam with a philanthropic vision and a pioneering zeal to impart quality education by offering specialized courses in the textile field and later on diversified into other need-based areas of technological development.

Its commitment to serve as a change agent in the industrial and socio-economic development is evident from its progressive track record and impressive performance for more than two decades.
